Always Building

In 2002 artist John Pule and a group of his students from Manukau Institute of Technology(MIT) painted a mural on the southern facade of Alway's Buildings on the corner of Williamson Avenue and Great North Road,Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand. The imagery and organisation of this mural were drawn from Pule's own art practice and the work now forms a major identifying elements for the Grey Lynn village.
This time, the subject of studio is to focus on the design of facade. At the first stage, we went to the site and sketch a section of the mural that we are interested in.
During the drawing process, I was reading and trying to understand the symmetrical and symbolic patterns. The more you read, the more you will get.
